New Branch of MSLandscaping on its way!

Increased focus on specific garden plant care and horticulture skills along with watering schedules for existing or recently installed gardens and landscaped areas. This has always been included in my follow-ups with clients, but more of you are asking for the expertise. I look forward to sharing more on this new venture in the winter weeks to come.

March 2026
March 1! I can't believe it! 20 more days of winter! I am keeping my fingers crossed that we are done with the bitter cold and possible winter storms. The Ides of March will be upon us soon!
Clients are stirring out of the quietness of January and February and starting to think about their yard spaces. The first week in March finds me spanning the range of landscaping. I am installing boxwoods, cleaning up the backyard in Decatur where I finished a front yard drainage and garden bed project last week, meeting with new clients, working on a new cottage garden design for a backyard space, and preparing to install a cobblestone patio next week. In my element, I love this time of year!
Dream big dreams for your yard and gardens spaces and let us make those dreams realities. What are your 2026 landscaping and gardening needs? Get the ball rolling for your spring - fall outdoor time with landscaping time with us.
We specialize in effective, FREE consultations that allow face to face time with a client so that we are better able to understand their needs and answer their questions. In a world of text, email, and messenger, we prefer to talk directly with our clients and follow up effectively.
Happy March,

March Landscaping Tip
Limelight Hydrangea Pruning
If you have not pruned back your limelight hydrangeas (a variation of Paniculata Hydrangea), March is the time to do it. Mid to late winter is the best time of the year to prune limelights before there are new blooms. What do they look like when I need to prune them? Limelight stalks will darken towards the end and a few chubby bloom buds will start to appear. (See photo below.)
The limelight flower clusters bloom on new wood. The harder the prune, the thicker the wood, and stronger, larger blooms will emerge. What does "harder" mean? Prune back the branches by a third to a half removing dead, damaged, or entangled branches. Count up with the leaf nodules on the branches and cut consistently across the branches from bush to bush at a similar nodule height to create a consistency within the bush and between bushes.

Time to Prune!
