Sod can be installed 365 days out of the year, but the best time to install it is when the weather is cooler up until late spring and in the fall before the cold sets in. The exceptions are Zenith Zoysia, Bermuda, St. Augustine and other similar type grasses that can handle higher heat installations in the summer with proper watering.

Why sod over grass seed? Sod is installed to avoid the germination process for seed. Obtaining a grassy yard is faster with sod.
